“TRADE WITH ENGLAND IS RIPE FOR DEVELOPMENT”
Explaining that he attended the reception organized by the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce for Turkish Cypriot business people in London and had the chance to contact with business people and Turkish Cypriot tradesmen in London Ahmet Savaşan, “During my visits, I once again saw that there is a potential for the development of trade between the TRNC and London. It is in our hands to realize this potential, to deliver what we produce to our brothers and sisters in London, and to encourage them to turn their savings into investments on the island. I believe that the government and business people should work together for this. On the occasion of November 10, he attended the commemoration ceremony for Atatürk at the Turkish Embassy in London and met with the Turkish Ambassador to London Ümit Yalçın. Ahmet Savaşan, He also said that they exchanged views on the way to be followed in order to explain the new Cyprus policy put forward by the TRNC with the support of Turkey in the UK and to seek support in this regard.

Stating that he also visited the TRNC London Representative Office within the scope of his UK contacts Ahmet Savaşan, Savaşan said that he met with Ambassador Çimen Keskin, received information about the work of the representation, and had an idea about the needs and what needs to be done in order to provide a more effective service at the representation. Savaşan stated that the congestion caused by the great increase in the applications made to the representation office due to the pandemic, the sensitivity shown by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertoğruloğlu on the issue and Unal Üstel He added that the e-Government application of the government will be solved with the expansion of the e-Government application to London in a short time and thus the satisfaction of Turkish Cypriots living in the UK will increase.

Savaşan said, “We have a strong political presence in London. Both the TRNC Representation and leading Turkish Cypriot organizations and business people know very well what needs to be done, taking lessons from the work done in the past. I foresee that we can do successful work in the UK by evaluating the UK's efforts to achieve a new position in the world.”.
“WE MADE NEW AGREEMENTS WITH 8 COUNTRIES”
Reminding that he participated in the World Tourism Fair (World Travel Market - WTM) with the participation of more than 100 countries, Savaşan said that they held 14 meetings with tourism professionals from 8 countries in accordance with the appointments made in advance during the fair and signed new agreements for health tourism.

Stating that more than 70 conferences and seminars were held at the WTM London Fair and the reshaping of the sector to ensure sustainability in tourism was discussed, Savaşan said that they had the opportunity to explain the tourism potential of Northern Cyprus in some of the sessions they attended.
“WE SHOULD ALSO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE TENDENCIES SET OUT AT THE SUMMIT IN NORTH CYPRUS”
Pointing out that at the Tourism Ministers Summit organized together with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the participants pointed out that it was time for the tourism sector to focus on cooperation rather than competition. Ahmet Savaşan, He said that tourism should be made the first item on the political agenda and that there should be more cooperation between the ministries of tourism and the ministries of economy and environment, and underlined that the trends set out at this summit, which he also attended, must be taken into account for TRNC tourism, which needs to be reshaped after the pandemic.
“HEALTH TOURISM WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP”
Savaşan said, “In the meetings we attended, tourism has revived in many parts of the world, Coronavirus ”In the tourism sector, which witnessed millions of job losses and a 50 percent drop in revenue during the pandemic, we have seen the 2022 data enter a clear recovery due to strong pent-up demand. “We have learned that the projections of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) point to a strong decade of growth,” he said, adding that "we have seen that people are expected to turn more towards extraordinary holidays and travels; medical tourism, health holidays for mind, body and soul health will increase due to price increases in developed countries; virtual reality travel will increase in popularity; cultural tours will gain importance; demand for historical routes will increase and business trips will turn into vacations.
“I SAW THAT GOOD AND IMPORTANT WORK CAN BE DONE IN LONDON”
Stating that he saw that good and important work can be done in London during his four-day contacts, Savaşan said, “When I look at the presence of the Turkish Cypriot community in London and the struggle that has been waged in London from past to present, I saw that good and important work can be done in London if the existing economic potential, especially tourism, is utilized correctly.”.
